Before and After School Program:
The Cheyenne Family YMCA Learning Center Before and After School Program is for elementary students across Cheyenne. The program offers a safe, nurturing, challenging and fun place for children after school. We cultivate self-respect, self-esteem and self-control, all of which contribute to a child's future success. We also promote our four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Caring. Our Before and After School Program uses a curriculum that explores apprenticeships with local residents and leaders in Cheyenne. For the coming school year participants in the program will explore a variety of careers and experiences. Registration forms are available for the Before/After School Program at the front desk or from the Learning Center office at extension 28.

Registration for Fall begins on July 11, 2011

Early Release & No School Days:
On regular weekdays when school is not in session, the YMCA provides child care to all the children who are enrolled in the Before and After School Program at the YMCA site.  Organized activities are planned and an out of building activity may also be scheduled.  There is no additional cost for these days.

Holiday & Spring Break Day Camp:
Child care is available for your school-aged child during the Laramie County #1 school district's holiday break at the YMCA site only.  Before and After School participants can attend these camps with no additional charge. Organized activities are planned and out of building activities are typically scheduled for each camp. In the past campers have gone to movies at the Capitol Theater, bowling, and swimming in our very own pool.  Camps are held for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break.

For inclement weather the YMCA Learning Center follows the schedule set by the City of Cheyenne, State of Wyoming and Laramie County School District #1.

Preschool:
The Learning Center Preschool Program has full-time and part-time options. The program serves children ages 1 - 5 and starts at 7:00 am and ends at 5:30 pm. The part-time program can be tailored to meet a family's particular schedule and needs. Both the full-time classroom and the part-time classroom use the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum to guide lesson planning and project development. Children in the preschool classrooms participate in swimming, walks to the park, fi eld trips and other exciting activities in addition to classroom projects and activities that stimulate curiosity, exploration and persistence. We build curious, persistent explorers at the YMCA!
