Youth Sports
These programs are for all children, ages 2 1/2 through 12 years.  Sports programs run throughout the year.  Registrations are held in advance and end one month prior to the beginning of each sport. Scholarships are available for program fees.  Please check the Mission Driven Programs page for more information or call 634.9622 extension 16 for more information.

Football Camp

Was held in July 2008

3rd and 4th grade camp

12:30-4:00pm

5th and 6th grade camp

8am to Noon

This camp is for children 3rd through 6th grade

Learn the fundamental skills of football for either Tackle Football or Flag Football

Basic skills for:

passing

rushing

blocking

catching

special teams will be reviewed

The fees are $45 per player and a t-shirt and lunch will be provided

Pre-registration is required and ends July 7th

Book your child's birthday party at the YMCA!  We take care of everything!

Early reservations are essential!

Maximum of 12 children ($10.00 for each additional child after 12)

A deposit is required 48 hours after booking or the party is cancelled.

The C.I.T.Y.

Curriculum and Integrity for Teenaged Youths (C.I.T.Y.)

is a YMCA program aimed at sixth through ninth grade teens in Cheyenne. The C.I.T.Y. will give teens opportunities to express creativity, athleticism, and intellectual curiosity in a relaxed and inviting environment. 

The C.I.T.Y. offers a unique blend of arts, sports and discipline, combined with traditional YMCA values. Teens throughout Cheyenne will take part in a one-of-a-kind program, which gives them the freedom to explore their own individuality, make friends, and pursue new interests.

The C.I.T.Y. will engage in the following enrichment activities:

Journalism and writing clinics

Photography

Computer skills

Web design

Organized daily sport

Weekly guest speakers

Indoor Park
Indoor park is a warm safe environment for children ages newborn to 6 years old to run and play.  Supervision is provided by parents, and all toys and activities are provided by the YMCA.  This program is free to the community and begins in October.

Karate
A non-traditional method of self-protection.  Instruction is offered progressively from beginner to advanced for ages 6 years to Adult.  Classes are held on Monday and Wednesdays from 6:45 to 7:45pm for beginners and from 7:45 to 8:45pm for intermediate and advanced.    Classes are run in four week sessions and registration is held on the 15th of the month for the following month.  The fees are $27 for Members and $45 for Community. Scholarships are available for program fees.  Please check the Mission Driven Programs page for more information or call 634.9622 extension 16 for more information.

Racquetball
Available to youth ages 16 and older unless accompanied by an adult.  Racquetball courts are available on a first come first served basis or are available on a reservation sheet at the check in desk.  Racquets may be checked out to players who take good care of the equipment.  Free to Members.

Supersitters Class

This class is for 10-13 year olds ready to learn the fundamentals of babysitting.  Students will be educated in the fundamentals of safety procedures and will receive a certificate of completion. In addition students will take home a bag of goodies with ideas to enjoy with the kids they take care of.  Pre-registration is encouraged space is limited.

Y Lift Free Weights
Learn the fundamentals of strength training from a certified instructor.  Youth Wellness Center Orientation is a prerequisite and youth must be at least 13 years old to participate.  Free to Members.

Youth Wellness Center Orientation
Learn to use resistance training machines and cardiovascular equipment. Youth must be at least 5 feet tall and 12 years of age to register.  Youth must attend a 2 hour of class on either Tuesdays 4:00 to 6:00pm or Thursdays 4:00 to 6:00pm. Pre-registration is required.  Free to Members.
