At the Y, we believe in health and well being for everyone regardless of their experience, ability, or age. Seniors are at a higher risk for diabetes, heart disease, and struggles with mental health. This is why we have a department dedicated solely to Senior Wellness. Not only do we have classes designed to be low-impact for seniors, we also have regular social gatherings to stay connected in their community.
Though we have plenty of classes that are specifically for seniors such as SilverSneakers or Senior Fitness, we also have a number of classes that are low-impact but have a wider range of attendees. We have created a Senior Class Schedule that highlights many of the classes that our seniors love, both on land and in water.
Monthly Coffee Socials
On the second Wednesday of every month 7:00-9:00 AM, we host a coffee social in our Pool Lobby. We provide food and coffee, all you have to bring is the social. Outside of scheduled socials, members also (donate) and make coffee Mon-Fri in the mornings. If someone has something to celebrate, or just felt like baking, you will be sure to find things to snack on more than once a month. Feel free to stop by during business hours!
SilverSneakers® is a health and fitness program designed for adults 65+ and their wellness needs. It is included with many Medicare Plans.

Though Pickleball isn't strictly for seniors, it is one of their favorite pastimes. Pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages/skill levels. The game is easy to learn for beginners, but it can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. We have players that are eager to teach and play with new competition, so come try it out! We play up to three courts at a time.
