University of Phoenix
University of Phoenix partners with Cheyenne Family YMCA through their First Chance® Scholarship Program and will offer 5 full-tuition scholarships to prospective students.

Applications will be available May 1 and due July 31.

Summer Food Service Program Site for 2010

The Cheyenne Family YMCA Summer Food Program – a three-month program that provides free, healthy meals to children up to age 18  – begins Monday, June 7, 2010.  The program, in its fourth year, is a collaboration between the Cheyenne Family YMCA, Wyoming Department of Education, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Laramie County School District No. 1 and the United States Department of Agriculture, (USDA).
The meals will be served at various locations throughout Cheyenne as part of the YMCA’s summer “Bus Program,” as well as to children participating in summer school at certain LCSD No. 1 locations.  The “Bus Program” locations for summer 2010 are listed below:

Cole Elementary School 9:30 - 11:00 am
Prairie View Apartments 9:30 - 11:00 am
Goins Elementary School 12:00 - 1:30 pm
West Winds Mobile Home Park 12:00 - 1:30 pm
Arp Elementary School 2:00 - 3:30 pm
Baggs Elementary School 2:00 - 3:30 pm

Cheyenne Family YMCA 11:00 - 12:30 pm

 

The “Bus Program” is a free, adult-supervised program for children in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.   In addition to the food program, activities offered are sports and games, nature and outdoor activities, arts and craft projects, science adventures, summer reading program and many more fun activities.
